[Dyslexicon]: Manuscripts for ADULTS with Hi-Lo/Reading Disabilities

This is the Dyslexicon submission portal for hi-lo adult manuscripts. Please know what it is before submitting.

Dyslexicon publishes a very specific type of book, which is Hi-Lo material for ADULTS with dyslexia or other reading impairments. Please ONLY submit that type of manuscript.
 

• IMPORTANT: Dyslexicon provides accessible books for adult readers with reading disabilities who need easy language, but who want stories with adult characters facing adult issues in an adult world, not books for kids. Dyslexicon books feature adult characters and easy sentences, so readers with dyslexia, alexia, visual impairments, ADHD, neurodivergence, or other reading disabilities can enjoy easy stories that are not aimed at children. Submissions must be aimed at adult readers but feature very easy language.
• Open to all styles, themes, formats, types, subjects, or lengths, including novels, novellas, short-story collections, poetry, play scripts, creative nonfiction, and hybrid forms. Novels/novellas receive the highest priority because they are the most requested by readers.
• We are not interested in religious books of any kind, including Christian fiction.
• WE DO NOT PUBLISH A.I.-GENERATED BOOKS. FULL STOP. We expect work to be written by actual humans for actual humans.
• Any interior illustrations will only be printed in grayscale. We don't publish full-color interiors.
• Must be 18 to submit.
• We pay 30% net proceeds for paperback and ebook sales.
• Submit a cover letter that briefly explains your book, pitches or hooks, audience, special marketing ideas or connections you have for sales, form(s) or style(s), reader/teacher groups you're part of, expertise with the subject(s), or anything else you think we need to know about you or your book. You can either attach this cover letter as part of your submission or paste it into the cover letter field.
• We do consider completed anthologies by multiple authors. The editor should describe any credentials for the anthology in the cover letter.
• Submit your entire manuscript. Once we start reading, we won't want to stop!
• There is a $9.50 reading fee to support our press and pay our readers. Reading submissions takes an incredible amount of time, and charging a small reading fee allows us to give your manuscript the care and attention it deserves. We thank you so much for your support.
